The Just Between Friends Consignment Sale is coming to Kansas City! Consignment sales can save you a ton of money but only if you are prepared. You can waste money if you buy things you don’t need or that don’t fit.
Typically, I shop two times a year for my kids. In late summer/early fall I buy summer clothes for next year that go on clearance and then shop consignment sales for everything we will need for fall and winter. I do the same thing late winter/early spring.
I did all our summer clearance shopping last week and now I am preparing for the big consignment sale. I am determined to be prepared early so I am not making my list and going through clothes the day before the sale.
Here is what I do to get ready:
- Set my budget-I set money aside for clothes every month but if you don’t have money set aside figure up how much you have to spend.
- Make a list of items needed with amounts and sizes.
- Make a list of items that I want but are not a must (if I have room in the budget).
- Take an inventory to see what we have already
This week my goal is to get my list ready and then next week I will take an inventory of what I have. Come back later this week and I will share my list with you. Next week, I will share how I go through our clothes and take inventory, tips to use at consignment sale and show you the results of my shopping trip.
