I have an Easy Pecan Pie Recipe for you to try! I think this is the best pecan pie recipe because anyone can make it and everyone loves it!!
Food is one of my favorite things about the holidays but I am always puzzled as to what to bring. Well I am happy to say that I am puzzled no more! This is my dessert of choice for all of my holiday gatherings this year. Its guaranteed to please everyone in the crowd!
Ingredients
- 1/2 stick of butter
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup dark Karo syrup
- 2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pie crusts
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and beat well.
- Add syrup, vanilla and nuts and place in pie crust
- Bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes.
- This will make two pies!
Easy Pecan Pie Recipe Tips:
I like to use the pie crusts that you roll into your own pie pan that are usually found near your ‘canned’ biscuits for this recipe although you can use the kind you find in the freezer section. If you use the crust you roll out plan to use 1 1/2 crusts for each pie – 1 to line the pan, the other 1/2 to make decorations.
I free handed leaves for my pie but I also like to use cookie cutters to make all sorts of decorations for the tops of the pies. This is a great way to get your kids involved as well.
Pecans can be on the pricey side so I like to purchase them when they are in season, shell and freeze them. If possible, purchase them from a Farmers Market so that you get the best quality and best price. This also helps to ensure that they have not been in contact with any other nuts which is important in my family because we have several with a peanut allergy.
