We live in a small town in SE New Mexico. I am a semi-retired construction worker (injuries) and have been supplementing income with photography for about 3 decades. Why photography? My Dad fostered in me a love of this art beginning at about six years old when he gave me my own real, not toy, camera and had me join him in the darkroom. That lit a fire in me that can never be quenched.
The Internet has given me an opportunity not just to sell more of my art, but also the ability to share my love for the art by means of blogging. I try to mix in techniques and ideas in my blog as well as some self promotion of my retail site. We use the extra income to finance fun things, like a new iPad or a short vacation, and sometimes simply to help make ends meet in this economy. My wife is disabled and saves us so much money by couponing and frugal ideas (sharing back and forth with other bloggers) that it’s as good as having a part time job bringing in extra money.
