As mothers with two small children (my son is 2-1/2 and my daughter is 9 mos, Chrissy’s girls are 2-1/2 and 13 mos) we find that we spend A LOT of time “doing things”. Much of the time could be saved if we just had simpler ways to “do things”. But how on earth will we find the time to think about all of the daily challenges to having small children and wasting away precious time while we’re…well…wasting away precious time???
I get Parent’s Magazine and Real Simple – two of my guilty pleasures, my husband would attest to the fact that I literally get giddy when they arrive. It gives me something to read while I’m running between distraction scenarios! It gives me hope when I’m feeling the “poor me complex” and best of all, they are both full of fabulous solutions to the little things in life that just suck energy out of me!
I want to compile all of these great ideas in one place. Since I know for every one idea that each magazine publishes there are hundreds more that they don’t it makes sense that we should pool our resourceful minds together to conquer the frittering!
Every weekend we will host (along with the Show & Tell) “Simple Solutions Saturday”. I’ll start by sharing the tips I’ve collected from the past few years of reading these wonderful magazines and you can add your tried and true solutions!
These should be free or VERY minimal cost solutions to everyday organization, cleaning and household/family situations.
So – get your thinking caps on and join us this weekend for some great ideas!!
