This week I went to HyVee, Hen House and Price Chopper!
For those of you new to frugal shopping and those of you going through our workshop, this is a good trip to look over. We have several items we NEEDED, and some are brand preferences (Skippy, Eggland’s Best, the Mayo) that weren’t on sale but we made it work within our budget for the week. My daughter’s birthday party will be a backyard BBQ with family and friends – probably doubling as a going-away get together as well – and is definitely an added expense. We are managing this in our grocery budget plus the gift giving budget.

In all I spent $92.65 this week ($25 of it was for the large family BBQ we are having for my daughter’s first Birthday: chips, plates, cups, plastic ware, mustard, cake mix, dips), later this week we will get milk from CostCo with the $60 cash card we got as an incentive for the tires we got last week!
So, I know I spent my budget last week but…since we are moving 1200 miles away in three weeks we’ve decided to start stocking up on as many dry goods and other shelf-stable foods as we can so that I can focus on replenishing the all the other stuff we won’t be able to take on our move. I am worried about all the perishables we won’t be able to take with us and how much I will spend buying all that again!
