We ran out of diapers tonight!!!
I mean really and truly OUT! Shocking and unexpected as that was to me…that’s NOT really what this post is about!
I went to Walgreen’s to use my $5/$20 coupon to get diapers for my daughter (my son is potty trained, WooHoo!!!) and since I printed 2 coupons and needed lots of diapers, camera batteries and some meds, I decided to make two transactions and hit both Walgreen’s in my town (they are about 1.5 miles apart).
In the first transaction:
2 packs of Pampers diapers @ $11.79 ea (WOW! it’s been a while since I bought diapers)
used 3 coupons
– $2/1 Pampers
– $2/1 Pampers
– $5/$20 Wags Coupon
my OOP was $14.58.
In my second transaction (at a different location):
1 pack of Pampers for $10.49 (yes, that is the old price, pre-hike; isn’t that interesting? all the Huggies and Pampers diapers were marked at $10.49 on the shelf at this Walgreen’s vs. the $11.79 the other store had them marked!)
2 Walgreen’s brand training pants (for overnights and nap time) 2/$11.98,
1 pack of camera batteries $17.99,
some meds $5.99.
used 2 coupons
– $2/1 Pampers
– $5/$20 Wags coupon
my final OOP here was $50 and some change.
I really didn’t do all that bad on the diapers – it was the camera batteries that killed me! I saved right at $20 with coupons and sales so I guess I can consider the batteries free and full price for the diapers that I shouldn’t have run out of in the first place!
For those of you in Blue Springs, the South Walgreen’s has the cheaper diapers! Go stock up while you can get them for $10.49 (but, use a coupon of course)!!!
