I sat down last night to read through the sale ads (since Chrissy handles all of the Sunday work I usually don’t look through the ads until Sun evening or Monday morning!) and noticed that CVS had batteries, toilet paper and paper towels on sale with an ECB deal.
If you buy $20 in any of the three products, you get $10 back in ECB’s. It seems to me that toilet paper, paper towels and batteries are the hardest thing to get on sale and coupons are usually not work much considering the price.
We are moving in two weeks and I can’t imagine the number of paper towels we will need along the way, toilet paper seems to go like water around our house and batteries, too! I jumped in the car and headed to CVS.
Here’s what I bought
1st transaction:
2 packs TP @ $5.99 ea
2 packs PT @ $5.69 ea
Total $23.36
Coupons $1.00 ($.25/1 from 6/1 PG)
ECB’s used to pay = $10.96
Final OOP = $11.40
ECB’s earned = $10.00
2nd transaction:
1 pack TP
3 packs duracell batteries
Total = $21.86
Coupons $6.25 (I used 3 $2 Duracell coupons from the 5/18 SS)
ECB’s used to pay = $9.00
Final OOP = $6.61
ECB’s earned = $10.00
Overall I spent $17 and got 3 12-roll packs of Charmin, 2 8-roll packs of Bounty Basic paper towels and 3 packs of batteries (the batteries alone would have cost a little under $24). This will last us for several months (when I add it to the stockpile we already had going)!
I was there at about 9pm on Sunday evening and the papertowels and toilet paper were almost gone already!
