My daughter will be 1 on Saturday!! I can’t believe it has been a year already.
It’s silly but, I was really excited to make the car seat switch and have her facing front. She’s pretty small (or maybe I just feel like she’s small because her brother was so BIG) but she weighs exactly 20 pounds!
Then I opened the June issue of my Parents magazine (which I so look forward to each month) and found that the AAP now recommends that infants remain rear-facing in their car seats (a regular car seat – not the infant carrier) until they reach the height and weight limit for that seat – around 18-23 months old!
Bummer! But ultimately, we decided it was too much of a risk to turn her around so for now she’s rear-facing again!
UPDATE: One of our readers passed along this website full of information on car safety seats! (Thanks Jill!)
