This week we are going to share how we have started cutting back on our water bill.
Here are just a few ideas that we are doing:
*I only run my dishwaher when it is full
*Most expert suggest to just scrape food from plates and let your dishwasher do the rest. When I tried this my dishes didn’t come clean so I now take a sponge and put a little soap on it and filling it with water. I then use the sponge to clean off my dishes before I place them in the dishwasher. This has saved use a ton of water.
*To cut back in the bathroom I use a milk jug filled with water, and place it in the toilet tank. This saves me one gallon every time we flush!
*I have tried to take shorter showers, but I love a hot shower!! I have two little ones and some days this is my only alone time! I will soon be installing a low-flow showerhead in my shower. Low-flow showerhead use only 2.5 gallons per minute. Some older showerhead can use up to 5.5 gpm.
