In Phoenix, this week seems to be a hot week for deals on soda.
As I was going through the ads I noticed several of these “deals” for “Buy 2 get x Free“. In many cases the potential savings are listed below the ad in fine print.
I want to make a cautionary statement…
Be careful that you are not paying more per pack of soda to get one or even two free.
In some cases the advertised savings indicated a per pack price that was at least a $1.50 more than it would normally be and over $2 more than some recent GOOD deals at stores like CVS and Walgreen’s. In the past two months we’ve seen prices as low as 4 12-packs for $9 and 4 for $11. I don’t buy soda on a regular basis but it seems that the average price for Pepsi and Coke products hovers around $3.50-$3.99 a 12-pack.
I personally only saw ONE deal that looked legitimate and it was for Pepsi 2-Liters.
