With all of our lives being so busy, it can be easy to forget what Thanksgiving is really about. Yes we all like the turkey, stuffing, cranberries and of course the pumpkin pie. But Thanksgiving has much greater importance than that. Here are some fun and simple activities you can do to help your children understand the true meaning of the holiday.
Write what you are all thankful for on colorful craft sticks. Then glue then to the back of a painted wooden spoon to make this cute little turkey.
Another way to make a thankful turkey is to use a pine cone for the body. The head, feathers and wings are all made from construction paper.
This thankful tree was made with my daughter’s arm and hand print. Of course, if you do not want to get this messy, just paint the tree trunk or cut it out of construction paper.
Here is a cute cookie to give out to your friends.
These are some cute Thankful Turkeys we made from toilet paper rolls and construction paper.
Last year each of my children made their own Thankful Turkey Place mats.
Just remember the craft does not have to turn out perfect, it just has to be fun.
I hope everyone has a GREAT THANKSGIVING !!!!!!!!!
