This week we will begin serious grocery planning: menus, lists and shopping trips!
This week when the grocery ads come, sit down for 20-30 mins to look over them. Watch for items your family uses that are (or appear to be) on sale. Make a list of the the sales you want to take advantage of.
Next you will make a simple meal plan for the coming week. If you’ve not done this before take it slow.
Now you will make a list of “must haves” for the week. These are things your family cannot do until your next shopping trip.
Once you have your list you want to go to your computer to see what coupons are available for the items you are planning to buy.
Once you have your lists made, your coupons clipped and your menu planned you have just one more step: Where are you going to shop?
This decision will be based on how much time you have, what kind of a budget you are working with and whether or not your family has specific brand preferences or dietary needs.
