Earlier this week, I posted about a great deal on diapers at CVS where if you bought a Jumbo pack of Pampers diapers for $8.99, you would receive $5.00 in ECBs. I tried the deal on Monday, but no ECBs printed. The word around the blogosphere was that the cashier had to be willing to issue the ECBs manually (mine was not able to do so) and that calling CVS corporate would result in the $5.00 ECB printing out at the bottom of your receipt the next time you went into CVS. I wanted to wait to post this news until I had tried calling corporate myself. After a quick phone call to CVS this afternoon, I’m happy to say that this does appear to be the case.
Here’s what you need to do if you purchased the Pampers this week and did not get your ECBs (I’m not sure if the purchase had to be made by Monday when they pulled the deal or not–Edited to add: you did not have to have made the purchase by Monday):
1) Call CVS at 1-800-746-7287.
2) Press 0 to talk to someone in customer service.
3) Have your Extra Care card handy as they’ll need to look you up by number.
4) Have your receipt from your Pampers shopping trip available.
5) Make sure to tell them you saw the deal posted on the website but that you weren’t issued your ECBs.
The customer service rep I spoke with was very courteous and apologetic. He said my ECBs would become available in about 48 hours and would print out on my next receipt. I’m so thankful for his help in getting me a great deal on diapers.
Thanks also to Melissa who posted this news in the comments of the original post.
