1. Look at all the sale ads and pick the store that will save you the most money on your most expensive item (turkey or ham). Try to limit yourself to 1-2 stores. Remember it may not be worth your time to drive all the way across town to save $.20 a lb on sweet potatoes.
2. Make a list. Spend the extra time at home planning so you don’t have to go back on Thanksgiving because you forgot the pumpkin pie.
3. Don’t just think Thanksgiving! The holidays are a great time to stock up! If you have room in your budget try to stock up on the big sale items. If you can get turkey super cheap you might want to get an extra one to put in the freezer for later.
4. Plan your menu around sale items or seasonal produce items.
