A couple of times a week I pick out things to donate to my local Freecycle group here in town. It’s a cool group where instead of having to call and wait for someone to get my stuff, I post it out as an OFFER and local members can ask for it.
Example:
OFFER: Patio Chairs
I have 4 patio chairs that we are no longer needing. Brown in color.
Members then respond to my posting via emails and I pick who I want to get my chairs. The whole transaction is over in a couple of hours and I don’t have to mess with it anymore.
Go to Freecycle.org and sign up for your city.
