If your family is like mine and the kids are getting too old for most hand me down items (shoes especially), you know the challenge of trying to find bargains at the department stores. Here are some tips we have found helpful:
Find out when your store(s) mark down out of season items such as shoes or coats and keep watching for those deep discounts. We have found high end boots for the winter at 5 and 10 dollars a pair for our sons. If you find a pair, but it’s the wrong size, try going to the store’s online site. If you call them and tell them you found a pair you wanted, but they were the wrong size chances are they’ll ship you the right size (if available) with no shipping fee! This is a particularly good strategy at Kohls, even more so if you happen to have a coupon for a percentage off. Saving now on seasonal items for later saves big bucks and a lot of stress.
