With a few minutes of prep you can make any meal of the day easy and delicious. I mentioned in my last post how cooking bacon and sausage in advance and storing it in the refrigerator was an easy way to save time during the morning rush. Here is an easy recipe using your already prepared bacon and sausage that will make breakfast, lunch or dinner a breeze.
This is a great thing to have the kids help with. They can make their own section of the “pocket” with the ingredients that they like. Place a toothpick in their section so that when cutting the pocket they get the section they created.
Ingredients
- Store bought french loaf dough (in the refrigerated section)
- Your choice of "stuffing". This is a great way to use the bits and pieces of things you have in your refrigerator. Create a combination of bacon, sausage, sliced meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, veggies, salsa, etc. The possibilities are endless.
Instructions
- Open french loaf dough
- Find the seam in the dough
- Slowly unroll the dough. It doesn't have to be perfect. If you develop holes try to patch them so that your stuffing doesn't run out
- Place your toppings on the rolled out dough. Spread them evenly so that you do not have any bulges
- Slowly roll up the dough and place it seem side down
- Follow the cooking directions on the dough package
- This makes around four 3-inch sections
- Serve with a side of fruit at breakfast or with a salad at lunch or dinner
