Welcome back to Becentsable’s Holiday Boot Camp!
Today we are going to talk about how to save big on your holiday cards! When you add up all the costs associated with sending out cards, it really adds up! Think about the money you have spent in the past on buying the cards, photos to send in the cards and postage.
Here are some great tips to keep you on track with your budget and allow you to send out wonderful cards this year!
Be on the lookout for photo deals! This time of year, I will post all sorts of hot photo deals. You can take advantage of these deals to create a holiday photo card or send photos in your cards. You will want to visit becentsable.net often to make certain you do not miss out on any of these hot offers. It is a good idea to have your photo ready to go so you can start grabbing the great deals as they are posted. Many times the deals do not last long!
Try making your own postcards this year! You can use old holiday cards and cut them up into postcards. Not only are you reusing and being green, you are also saving money on postage!
If you are feeling even more creative, you can make your own cards! You probably already have tons of crafty items around the house (colored paper, ribbon, stickers, stamping supplies, markers, colored pencils, gel pens, etc). Visit your local dollar store for inexpensive craft items. Or, create your own card on your computer.
Shop your dollar store! You might be surprised at their card selection. I know I have been in the past. I have found some fabulous looking cards and no one would have even guessed I bought them for a dollar a package.
Hand-deliver your cards to save on postage! Now, you do not want to drive all over town delivering cards. This would waste entirely too much gas! However, think of opportunities for you to easily pass out your cards (holiday parties, school events, family get-togethers). Keep them in your purse or car so you will not forget. You can also schedule a family walk around your neighborhood to deliver cards close by. Who knows – this may even start a new family tradition!
Be green and send e-cards this year! There are tons of sites which will allow you to send free holiday e-cards. This is a great solution for a tight budget. You may want to also consider sending some traditional cards and then some e-cards to help save money this year.
Be sure to visit the clearance sales after Christmas this year to get some amazing deals on cards for next year! Cards can go on sale for up to 90% off starting the day after Christmas!
