After a crazy HOT summer, Autumn in the Midwest has been quite beautiful and very pleasant!
We moved this summer and our new home (a foreclosure at a great deal in itself) needs some landscape and a lot of TLC. I started with a plan of what we wanted our yard to look like and tried to incorporate what we already had in place. I trimmed up all of the trees to begin with, and after I had the evergreen branches in a pile, I realized that someone would pay BIG money for a designer wreath.
I decided that I was going to be that designer and make the wreath myself! I was amazed at how far my trimmings would go and actually was able to make a wreath for myself as well as one for a dear friend’s birthday present. I purchased a wire wreath mold ($4) and wire ($3) to wrap the branches but then just used what we had in nature as well around the house.
It was great FUN and saved me TONS of money! I will mention that I did take a beginner wreath making class last November at our local nature sanctuary but it was also FREE! You might be able to sell your creations to make some extra money! Look around and figure out a way to make your own gifts for others. They will appreciate them so much more and your BUDGET will THANK YOU!
