Welcome back to Becentsable’s Holiday Boot Camp!
The average family spends more than $500 during the holiday season, and that’s just on gifts!
Don’t get trapped into spending even more money on household cleaners that you can easily make yourself with everyday items in your home. These cleaners are not only virtually free, but they are also good for the environment, so its win-win!
Instead of the expensive bottle cleaners for your shower, try making your own cleaner. You can spray after each shower so when Aunt Susie comes there won’t be any soap scum or mold!
Tile and shower curtain cleaner: Mix ½ cup water with ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Spray on tile, curtain and grout after each shower. Don’t go overboard, remember a little goes a long way. Rinse with water an hour later. Repeat after each shower.
Glass cleaner: Mix 2 cups water, ½ cup vinegar, ¼ cup rubbing alcohol with several drops of any of the following – orange, lavender, cinnamon or clove essential oil in a spray bottle. Use as you would use other glass cleaner.
Drain cleaner: Pour one cup of baking soda in the drain and follow up with one cup of vinegar. Wait 10 minutes and then flush with boiling water.
