My husband and I received gift cards as a Christmas present. We decided we would wait and plan out when to use our gift cards. We had one gift card to Chili’s Restaurant for $25 and one gift card to AMC Theaters for $25.
Well, the time came! We decided to MAXIMIZE our money (even if it was free to us)! Groupon had a deal on Saturday, February 4, 2012 for AMC Theaters. The deal was to pay $12 for 2 adult regular admission tickets (worth $20).
We received the tickets and paid just $6 each for a movie ticket instead of $10 for each ticket. Then, we were able to use the gift card for the crazy priced popcorn and drinks. We even had $5 left and I plan to use the rest for a girls night out during the week when the prices are even cheaper.
The Chili’s gift card, we used when I had a coupon for a free dessert with one entree purchased from the Chili’s website for my birthday. My husband and I went for a date night and shared the entree, Honey Chipotle Chicken Fingers, Fries and drinks with our FREE dessert. We didn’t pay a dime. We were able to use the gift card as a credit card and paid for the entire bill including the tip!
