Here are just a few ideas that we are using to save water:
*We only run our dishwasher when it is full.
*Most expert suggest to just scrape food from plates and let your dishwasher do the rest. When we tried this our dishes didn’t come clean so we now take a sponge and put a little soap on it and fill it with water. We then use the sponge to clean off our dishes before we place them in the dishwasher. This has saved us a ton of water.
*To cut back in the bathroom we use a milk jug filled with water, and place it in the toilet tank. This saves us about one gallon every time we flush!
*I have tried to take shorter showers, but I love a hot shower! I have two little ones and some days this is my only alone time! We installed a low-flow shower-head in our shower. Our low-flow shower-head uses only 2.5 gallons per minute and some older showerhead can use up to 5.5 gpm.
