Confession time….I have a small corner in my kitchen that I call the dump zone. This is a spot that always has tons of papers and junk that is just dumped and has no organization! With my second one off at school this year, I knew I had to do something with the piles of papers that will be coming in and out of this house every week. I decided to turn my dump zone into a command center to help me organize all the paperwork and keep track of all our activities. I didn’t want to spend any money to create my command center so I had to do a bit of digging around the house. I found a dry erase board and 3 clip boards and off I went.
I used a simple dry erase board to post all of our activities. If you want to get really organized, you can use a different color for each member of the family. Another idea is to enlarge the school calendar, so you already have all the activities and events listed.
I put one clip board at the top for all my paperwork.
- Grocery List
- Menu Plans
- Invitations
- Notes
I also put a clip board for each child.
- School Newsletter
- Snack Calendar
- Spelling List
- Book Reports
Now I have a simple command center that didn’t cost a dime and will keep things running smooth around my house!
