Children of all ages love bubbles! I know my 3 year old son can spot them a mile away and is entertained for what seems like endless hours with them. But now it’s September, even if you were willing to shell out big bucks for them, chances are you could not easily find them because they have been replaced with Halloween candy.
Making your own solution though is easy and affordable! The ingredients are common household items and take seconds to combine. You can easily search the interwebs for a myriad of recipes, many of which include glycerin which to me isn’t a common ingredient, so defeats the purpose.
Here is the easiest (and cheapest) recipe I have found and should help you and your family squeeze out the last few days of summertime fun…enjoy! (Feel free to double/triple etc., but I wouldn’t reduce anymore than already stated. )
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup dish soap (it appears Joy is the favored, but Ajax and Dawn are also recommended)
- 3/8 cup of corn syrup
Gently mix together ingredients and store in an air-tight container
