With a newborn in the house I am all about trying to save money on the essential baby supplies. Our condo is small, 800 sf to be exact. That said, it’s still a pain to trek from the living room to her room to get diapers each and every time we need them. The diaper bag doubles as my purse, so it stays in the kitchen.
My mom and my mother in law were both horrified I wasn’t saving each and every gift bag that we received presents in. I simply couldn’t, I told them, we did not have the room. I have sadly given up saving sentimental items or items that could be used in the future because we are so cramped.
But then it came to me one night. These gift bags are the perfect container for diapers, wipes and cream. They have handles so they can go from room to room. On my ‘to do’ list had been a trip to the home goods store to buy a bin that could be used for this purpose. But why buy, when we didn’t have to.
That was nearly six weeks ago. I have saved three bags and I am still using the original bag. It sits nicely on the floor next to the couch and is easily identifiable in the chaos that is our living room/kids play room.
