Have you ever been asked to bring a cake to something and you wanted to do something more exciting than your standard out of the box cake but only had the time (and ingredients) for the out of the box cake? Well check out this recipe for my “Fake it til you make it German chocolate pound cake.” It will have everyone thinking you spent the afternoon in the kitchen carefully mixing and measuring ingredients – which couldn’t be further from the truth!
This is a favorite of mine to take to new neighbors or to church or work functions. I hope you enjoy!
“Fake It Til You Make It German Chocolate Pound Cake”
1 box Betty Crocker German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 cup milk
2/3 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans, divided
1 can coconut-pecan frosting
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a Bundt pan. Be sure to get all of the edges so that the cake releases with no problem.
Mix all ingredients but reserve half of the pecans. Fold in can of frosting.
Sprinkle remaining pecans in bottom of Bundt pan. Top with cake mixture and bake for 1 hour.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a fancy presentation.
Enjoy!
