I’m responsible for the ham for Easter dinner…I did NOT plan well for the cost of that ham! $17 for the size I needed! Ick, that really put a kink in my budget this week since we had a small dinner planned that ballooned at the last minute!
After spending the morning at Children’s Mercy with my son (for several tests) and neither one of the kids napping today, I was exhausted but regardless, I was out shopping tonight for 2-1/2 hours!
Here are the details:
5lbs russet potatoes
6 lbs bananas
8.5 lbs oranges
12 cans Swanson broth
8 cans Campbell’s Cream soups
4 French’s Spicy Brown Mustard
4 dozen Egglands Best eggs
1 yoplait kids yogurt
1 Lactaid Milk (1/2 gal)
1 Daisy cottage cheese
3 THINK bars
2 8oz pkgs sliced mushrooms
12 pkgs Birds Eye Steamfresh vegetables/rice
4 pkgs Green Giant Simply Steam vegetables
2 family packs of Smart Chicken (5.75 lbs)
5lbs Honey
6 jars Gerber baby food
9lb spiral sliced ham
1 Schick Quattro Razor
Total Before Coupons $151
Total OOP (After Coupons) $75
So – I hit the jackpot with the Birds Eye and the Egglands Best Eggs (I ordered coupons from coupon clippers), the THINK bars and the mustard were free. All of these came from Hen House where coupons are doubled every day!
The soups and broth were very inexpensive and I used coupons (although, they were worth very little!). The rest of the stuff was either a “must have” or an okay deal on something that’s usually not on sale.
