Last week we went to Keystone for a great family vacation! A big THANK YOU to the Keystone Resort for hosting our family and helping us create lasting family memories. My oldest did get sick, but it only kept her down for one day. Of course, I got sick when we got home (the joys of motherhood!).
The first thing we did was head up to the top of the mountain for some extreme tubing! Did I say extreme? Yikes!!! I advice people not to eat before you go and hold on to your hat! I loved the state-of-the-art conveyor lift that took you back up the hill (all the fun and no work!).
On our first day of skiing we all took lessons (the kids loved that Mom and Dad had to go to school). I didn’t think I would learn very much in my lesson, not because I am an expert at skiing but because I have done it a certain way for so long! My ski instructor was 69 but could take anyone on that mountain. I was super impressed because he taught this old dog some new tricks and he had me skiing better in no time. The kids LOVED ski school! They had so much fun that they wanted to go back the next day!
We also got to do a Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride Dinner! A horse drawn sleigh took us to an authentic homestead for dinner and entertainment. This was a 3 hour event that was nothing like we have done before! The sleigh ride took us through a snow covered valley to a small cabin that had hot cocoa, soup and biscuits ready for us. We had a wonderful meal while we listen to music.
My oldest went down a blue run for the first time and my youngest went from the top of the mountain all the way down for the first time (that’s 3 1/2 miles). She was so tired at the end that she just laid down in the snow, but she was so proud of herself!
Later this year I will share more about our adventures!
